How to use my Evrycard NFC business card
UTP has switched from using short-life paper business cards to long-life plastic NFC business cards. You will no longer leave paper cards with every merchant. Instead, you can use one card to tap on every merchant's phone - effortlessly adding your details to their contact list. This not only saves you time, it cuts down on waste and creates a more sustainable future.
Getting started
To make the contactless NFC (Near Field Communication) work on your Evrycard, you simply need to tap it against the back of an NFC-enabled smartphone. It will work on Android or Apple iPhone.
Here are the steps to use the contactless feature of your Evrycard:
Ensure NFC is enabled
First, make sure that the NFC function on your smartphone is turned on. You can typically find this in your phone's settings under "Connections" or a similar section.
Hold the Evrycard near the phone
Hold the Evrycard against the back of your smartphone, focusing on the area near the phone's NFC antenna. This is usually near the camera area on the back of the phone.
Wait for the interaction
When you tap your Evrycard against the phone, you should see an interaction or notification pop up on the screen. This could be a web link opening, a contact being added, or an action related to the information programmed into the card.
What if nothing happens?
If your Evrycard is not working as expected, ensure that the NFC feature on your phone is enabled and that you are tapping the card against the correct NFC area on your phone. Newer Android phones work like iPhones, so you can tap near the top with ease. Older Android models require a tap centre back, usually beneath the camera area. Also, you can test with any other phone.

Don't forget the QR code
If you do have trouble with older model phones, do not forget about the QR code on your Evrycard. Use the smartphone camera to scan the code and get the same results. Easy!
