How much can I expect to make as a BDM with UTP?

As a self-employed BDM at UTP, you won’t receive a salary. Instead, we pay a generous commission for each card machine you sell. In addition to commissions, you can earn bonuses and residual payments. We also run regular incentives to keep the role exciting and help you earn even more.

Here are the average annual earnings of some of our BDMs:

  • Part-time seller: £56,514.57
  • Full-time seller: £160,568.45
  • Regional Manager: £296,894.74

What training do you offer for BDMs?

We provide full in-house training for all BDMs we onboard. This includes a 3-6 hour Teams/Zoom call with our Training Manager. This time can be split up depending on your schedule. You’ll learn about our company, card machines, and how to sell to businesses.

We can offer you as many additional training sessions as you see fit, until you feel confident to sell independently. If you are new to the industry, we provide sales training specific to the card payment sector.

We also have a dedicated Presales team to assist with terminal or commission queries.

How do BDMs work with internal teams?

Once you begin selling terminals regularly, you'll gain access to pre-set appointments made by our Lead Generation Specialists. They contact local businesses, assess the need for a card machine, and then schedule an appointment for you to attend and sell our products.

What does success look like in the first year?

Success varies for everyone. In this role, the more time and effort you invest, the more you will earn, especially at the start. Many of our BDMs reported earning well over their previous salaries within the first few months. Whatever success looks like to you, our in-house teams will provide all the tools to help you achieve it.

What tools do you provide to help me sell?

We offer detailed sales and product guides to build your confidence in selling to businesses. You’ll receive business cards and marketing materials to take with you when you visit businesses. Your region will have a Sales Manager, who will support and give you advice whenever needed.
